The zones are calculated by the Galerkin method in a form which enables a static hysteresis model to be used. The linear part of the circuit is represented by Thevenin equivalents. An original method for determining stability limits improves the Hayashi criteria. A natural extension gives the ferroresonant zones directly. The model circuit is given and the nonlinear inductance is derived. The results are given in three graphs comparing calculated and observed results.Francai
