The goal of the present research is rst to work out the dynamic behavior of an independent wheeled articulated bogie, by means of a 3D detailed multibody model. Previous research works have pointed out the poor dynamic behavior of the bogie on a straight track, whereas in curve it correctly deforms, leading to a noticeable reduction of the wheel/rail angle of attack and thus of wear. Then, to improve the above-mentioned straight track behavior, we have carried out a model-based study and proposed a technically reasonable solution in order to re-stabilize the vehicle by means of slight geometrical modications of the articulated structure.
