Italian Reformulation Markers: a study on spoken and written language

This paper tackles the issue of the relationship between the medium of communication and the meaning conveyed by reformulation markers. In particular, we show that spoken and written media select different types of markers, and that the meaning conveyed by single markers changes according to the medium of communication. Eventually, we have a look at reformulation triggers, and we demonstrate that the medium of communication has an impact on the motivations underlying reformulation
