This work is a contribution to the developpement of a "clean" method for preparing materials that can be used as adsorbents or catalysts for the effective treatment of industrial wastewater. For this purpose, the use of non-thermal plasma at atmospheric pressure is exploited. This method allows generating hydroxyl free radicals from the humidified air. The first part of the work focuses on the influence of plasmachemical treatment of smectite on the ability of the latter to adsorb anionic organic dyes from water. Results obtained in this section show that the treatment of clay by humid air plasma increases the number of hydroxyl groups at its surface.
