In Chile, the energy consumption of the residential sector corresponds to 21 % of total consumption in the country. According to figures released by CDT (2010), 56 % of residential energy use is for heating. For this reason, the Chilean Government has taken concrete measures to improve the thermal envelope in houses and in consequence diminishing their prominence on final energy consumption. After measures to enhance energy efficiency of buildings are being implemented, it becomes necessary to evaluate them for determining whether they generate the expected savings.
