Non-sensitive to the driving voltage polarity and hysteretic free V-shaped electro-optical response exhibiting characteristic switching on and switching off times τ 0.1-0.9 on ≃ τ 0.1-0.9 off ≃ 100/μs at the driving voltage amplitude less than 10V can be achieved in Deformed Helix Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal (DHF) mode. The application of this mode for new active-matrix LCD with Field Sequential Colors (FSC) is envisaged. © 2010 SID
