Cooperative transmission has attracted much attention recently, but it mainly focused on one S-D pair or multiple source one destination case (uplink). This paper, however, investigates a multi-source-multi-destination transmission system with a single assisting relay. Under a simple scheduling strategy, outage probability and outage capacity are derived. Moreover, optimal system throughput is proposed and analyzed. Fair access strategy of each S-D pair is also given and demonstrated. Furthermore, relay selection strategy is presented and demonstrated. © 2011 IEEE
