This thesis is an in-depth study of Li Panlong's literary theory, the anthologies of Chinese poetry he compiled, as well as the poetry he had written himself. It also considers Li's influences on the later ages in the context of the Ming Neo-Classicism from a perspective of canonization of Chinese poetry, which attempts to provide a new approach to the study of Li Panlong's poetics and creations. The first Chapter begins with the relationship between Li Panlong's poetics and that of his predecessors, the Neo-Classicists of an earlier era of the same dynasty.
