Treballs Finals de Grau de Física, Facultat de Física, Universitat de Barcelona, Curs: 2020, Tutor: Jordi Ortín RullAn exercise of numerical simulation of a quasi-static oil-air displacement through a porous medium is made. The porous medium is modelized through a Hele-Shaw cell and imbibement (wetting), draining (drying) wophase displacements are studied. It is shown that the displacements present hysteresis and cycle memory. Moreover, it is shown that the oil front movement presents avalanches whose relative frequency is inversely proportional to their size
