This paper presents a numerical investigation on the developing laminar flow and forced convection in the entrance region of a rectangular duct with one wall subjected to a constant heat flux and a uniform fluid injection or suction. Using the pressure deviation and vorticity-velocity method, the three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations and energy equation are solved simultaneously. Typical velocity and temperature distributions along the flow direction are reported, and both the hydrodynamic and thermal entrance lengths are examined. The phenomenon of flow reversal in suction flow is illustrated by variations of the axial pressure gradient.
