Magnetic materials are very popular for high frequency power conversion and their operation frequencies are usually in the region of kHz. This paper examines the processing of the ferrites, and the modelling of the magnetic core loss for high frequency operation. The proposed method is a dynamic model which considers the eddy current, hysteresis and anomalous losses. The loss analysis is based on Preisach modelling. The applications of the model, such as dynamic BH simulation, initial magnetisation curve simulation and major loop simulation, are discussed.
