In mixed men and women dairy cooperatives, women are barely seen and hardly heard, and 90% of the money given to men for the milk payments never reaches the household. Yet women do most of the milk production work. The Mulukanoor Women’s Cooperative Dairy’s founding principles established women-only membership, with women receiving the dairy money.
