We report silicon electro-optic modulators based on p-i-n diodes integrated microdisk and microring resonators. Our experiments demonstrate a 380-MHz 20-micron-size microdisk modulator and a 1-GHz 50-micron-size microring modulator, using ±1 V driving voltages. © 2006 Optical Society of America
