European Union represents a supranational creation based on respect for basic human rights, prohibition of all forms of discrimination and promotion of tolerance. Its main legislative institutions, the Council of Ministers, Parliament and Commission seek to harmonize Member State’s legislation by adopting directives, the instruments which at the same time represent a guarantee of respect for a wide range of rights enjoyed by Union’s citizens.
