Der Beitrag präsentiert ausgewählte Ergebnisse einer soziolinguistischen, gesprächsanalytisch verfahrenden Studie zu Interaktionsmustern mündlichen Erklärens in familialen Alltagsroutinen und schulischen Unterrichtsgesprächen. Nach einer Skizzierung allgemeiner Grundstrukturen des mündlichen Erklärens werden drei qualitativ unterschiedliche familiale Interaktionsmuster im Umgang mit kindseitigem Erklären vorgestellt, die jeweils als Ausdruck unterschiedlicher (diskurs)sozialisatorischer Praktiken verstanden werden können.
