A Survey on Web Content Mining Techniques and Its Tools

The World Wide Web (WWW) is a rich source ofinformation and continues to expand in size. Thecomplexity at the WWW makes it difficult for datamining. Before the Web, finding information meantasking a friend or an expert, or buying/borrowing abook. However, it is becoming a challenging task toeffectively and efficiently retrieve the required webpage /information on dynamic and heterogeneous webdocuments. If we can efficiently use web content miningtechniques and tools, we can easily extract usefulinformation from various forms of web page content byeliminating noisy information. This paper presentsdifferent web content mining techniques such asstructured, unstructured, semi-structured andmultimedia and five tools that can collect theappropriate information from websites that the userrequires.
