Generating the Good XML Schema from Relational Database by using String Matching Algorithms

Data exchanging is involving as an importantrole in the Web application and ExtensibleMarkup Language (XML) is also accepted as thestandard for exchanging information between theheterogeneous systems. The XML schema acts asthe standard format between the sender andreceiver for the XML documents. As a result, thedesign of the schema document is very importantbecause most of the XML documents arevalidated with their schema. In this paper, thetwo string matching algorithms (MaximumConsecutive Substring at right and any) areproposed for detecting the common attributes inthe relations. Then, these string matchingalgorithms are applied for detecting the commonattributes in the relations. The similar attributesare grouped and converted as element group inXML schema document for converting therelational database to XML schema document.The resulted XML schema is more modular;more understand for the human readers andreduce the maintainability effort
