A Framework for Heterogeneous Data Integration Using Grid Technology

Grid has emerged recently as an integrationinfrastructure for sharing and coordinated use ofdiverse resources in dynamic, distributedenvironment. OGSA-DAI (Open Grid ServicesArchitecture Data Access and integration) is aframework for building distributed data accessand integration systems. In this paper, wepresent a system for integration of heterogeneousdatabases based on Grid technology, which canprovide a uniform access interface and efficientquery mechanism to different databases.Mediator-wrapper architecture is used toimplement the system in which existing servicesof Open Grid service Architecture-Data Accessand Integration (OGSA-DAI) middleware is alsoused as wrappers to provide a standard interfaceof heterogeneous data resources. The queryprocessor has many extensibility points, makingit easy to customize. In addition, we tend tointroduce a new OGSA-DAI views resource thatprovides a flexible method for defining viewsover XML data
