XML-based Information Retrieval on the Semantic Web

The growth of the internet andtechnologies are useful for information search andretrieval on the Web. There are two methods offinding and interesting information such as;browsing which is suitable for situations where thegoal is general information on the topic andquerying or keyword based search which isappropriate when user has a clear goal. Althoughsearch engine technology has improved in recentyears, there are staying many types of searches thatreturn unsatisfactory results. This situation can begreatly improved if web pages use a semanticmarkup language to describe their content. In thissystem, keywords are first analyzed from the user toquery find relevant pages are converted intoExtensive Markup Language (XML) by using termdatabase. Finally, it retrieves the ranked pages fromentire domain area with the standard query results
