Myanmar Noun Phrase Identification System for Myanmar to English Translation

Noun Phrase Identification is one of the mostcritical components of natural languageprocessing because information retrieval systemsof all kinds rely on base-noun phrase as theirprimary source of entity identification.Translating noun phrase is also a very importanttask toward sentence translation since nounphrases form the majority of textual content ofthe document. In this paper, we implement aMyanmar noun phrase identification algorithmwhich uses the rule based approach. The systemuses the linguistic theory of Myanmar languagefor noun phrase which is attached withprepositional phrase, modified with adjectiveand adverb. To identify the Myanmar nounphrase from a sentence, Context Free Grammarrules, which are generated by using the part ofspeech sequences, are used. The system acceptsthe Myanmar tagged sentence as an input. Afteridentifying the noun phrases in the sentence,Myanmar noun phrases are generated as theoutput.
