POLA ASUH ORANG TUA DALAM MENDUKUNG PENGEMBANGAN DIRI ANAK BERKEBUTUHAN KHUSUS DI KOTA BATU

The role of parents is very important in everyday life, because of parents are the main educators for children at home. Therefore, while at home parenting is very important, especially in giving attention to their children, especially for children with special needs. This study aims to (1) indicators of the application of parenting styles for each parent in helping the self-development of children with special needs in Batu City, (2) Knowing how the impact of the form of parenting for each parent in supporting the self-development of children with special needs. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods using purposive method of data collection by obtaining 3 research subjects and 2 informants with certain criteria. The research was carried out and running from August to September 2020. Data analysis techniques used interactive analysis by Miles and Huberman (data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing) which had been tested as test data. The results of the study show that the parenting styles of parents in supporting the self-development of children with special needs use different parenting styles, it is found that several parenting styles are applied by the three parents, namely Permissive, Indulgent, Authoritative, and Democratic parenting, but the abilities of each -Each child and the child's mood that often changes and even the parents who are less dominating are some of the things that inhibit the child's self-development with special needs
