Increased concerns have been raised the last decade on the potential of Nanoparticles (NPs) aerosols (combustion generated and/or engineered) to cause an adverse impact on humans health, affecting primarily the respiratory system, and the environment. This thesis will mainly focus on the research of combustion-generated NPs aerosols, without neglecting to incorporate a case study of Engineered Nanoparticles (ENPs) related to the emission control technologies of combustion engines.
