The conversion of (14)C-labelled glucose to free amino acids by homogenate of human and rabbit brain was studied by paper chromatgraphy and radioautography with X-ray film. Results were: 1) In both human and rabbit brain glutamine, asparagine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and γ-aminobutyric acid with radioactivity were derived from (14)C-labelled glucose. Moreover in rabbit brain alanine was also derived. 2) In normal rabbit brain the derived amino acids were investigated. During short incubate time the precoursors such as aspartic acid and glutamic acid appeared quickly and intensively.
