The writer has dealt with the problem of lethal action of abnormally high temperature upon insects and resistance of insects to heat from the mass physiological and experimental autecological points of view. In this paper, however, the results obtained from these experiments have not been described in detail, but the writer's interpretations and general conclusions regarding the problems mentioned above are based on the writer's data reported serially from 1950 to 1961
