The last five years have produced many reports and guidance on how mining should occur to better balance its broader benefits and impacts. There are copious recommendations for government regulation and also for responsible company conduct. This article summarises the main documents here, together with broader dynamics in government regulation, and identifies some lessons these may provide for mining regulation in Indonesia.
