Despite the growing number of studies into violence against black, minority ethnic (BME) women in the UK, the literature has focused mainly on the experiences of South Asian women in the UK, and to a limited extent, African and Caribbean women. Only one study (Femi-Ajao, 2018), primarily focused on Nigerian women’s experiences of intimate partner violence and abuse. As the UK population is becoming increasingly diverse, to inform policies and intervention strategies research into violence against women needs to include other BME groups.
