This article analyzes the processes of discourse negotiation among different factions of Latin-American Catholicism through the drafts of the Documentos Finales de Medellín by the II Conferencia General del Episcopado Latinoamericano (1968). In order to achieve this, we articulate the analytical procedures of discourse analysis with the process-oriented and empirical perspective of genetic criticism. We conceptualize the results as a double dynamics or production of group voices and institutional legibility. In empirical terms, we observe this process through the variations in the conformation of an intertextual legitimate canon and the use of lexical items that belonged to the field of social sciences.En este trabajo analizamos los proceso...
