Os viajantes italianos na América Latina durante o período fascista: entre curiosidade e ideologia

The article discusses the vision of Latin America built by the Italians during the fascist era, especially the literature of travel in which they are provided reports to personal articles published in the specialized press or not. This vision permeated pre-concepts in the description and comparative analysis and types of natural and urban landscapes and inhabitants of these lands across the ocean and not missing the lessons on the positive contribution of culture and Italian citizen in the production of these landscapes and the social, cultural and political and economic sub-continent American. Visão esta permeada de pré-conceitos na descrição e na análise comparativa e tipológica das paisagens naturais e urbanas e dos habitantes destas terras além-oceano e onde não faltavam as ilações sobre a positividade da contribuição da cultura e do cidadão italiano na produção destas paisagens e dos aspectos sociais, culturais e políticos e econômicos do subcontinente americano. Enfatiza, também, o crescente interesse político e econômico italiano na região, principalmente pós-1930, lido pelo filtro ideológico do fascismo e no qual ressalta-se a italianidade presente e difundida pelos imigrantes além-oceano e, mesmo, a necessidade da construção de um pan-latinismo – em contraposição ao panamericanismo – a ser liderado por Roma
