For å kunne sikre god folkehelse er det essensielt å kunne analysere og forutsi smitterisiko i vannledningsnett. Smitte grunnet patogene mikroorganismer har vært årsaken til flere alvorlige vannbårne utbrudd i Norge de siste årene, deriblant smitteutbruddet i Askøy kommune i 2019. Kvantitativ mikrobiell risikoanalyse (QMRA) har blitt brukt for å vurdere smitte og sykdomsrisiko ved forurensningshendelser på ledningsnettet, men disse analysene neglisjerer ofte betydningen av stikkledninger og mindre innomhus ledninger frem til abonnementene. I denne masteroppgaven har vi sett på hvilken betydning disse mindre ledningene har, og om det er forsvarlig å ekskludere disse fra en QMRA.
