A momentary lapse of history : Borges and argentine literary critic during the last dictatorship and post dictatorship (1976-1986)

Resumen: La figura de autor construida por Jorge Luis Borges durante la última dictadura argentina (1976-1983) y el comienzo de la democracia (1984-1986) en la cultura argentina presenta especificidades que no han sido aún objeto de estudio. En este artículo proponemos una primera sistematización del vasto corpus compuesto de ensayos, notas, entrevistas publicados en diferentes medios de la época. Nos centramos en un aspecto particular: su concepción de la historia literaria argentina y el modo en que ésta cohabita y se opone a la de la crítica moderna, que gana progresivamente espacio en diferentes ámbitos y medios, hasta imponerse.Abstract: The figure of author built by Jorge Luis Borges during the last Argentine dictatorship (1976-1983) and the beginning of democracy (1984-1986) in Argentine culture presents specificities that have not yet been studied. In this paper we propose a first systematization of the vast corpus composed of essays, notes, interviews published in different media of the time. We focus on an aspect: his conception of Argentine literary history and the way in which it coexists and opposes that of modern critique, which progressively gains space in different fields and media, to the point of imposing itself
