In today’s contemporary western society, architecture has been reduced into calculative problem solving and the essence of architecture is endangered. In this thesis the problem is connected to lack of existential meaning in the contemporary worldview, which becomes visible in the buildings we built. Architecture based on meaninglessness can result as built environments, which are detrimental for human existence, both in its mental and physical realms.
