Background: Excessive time spent in sedentary behavior is associated with a range of physiological, psychosocial and behavioral health concerns in youth. Objective: The primary aim of this study was to examine the association between sedentary behavior and self-esteem among adolescent girls living in low-income communities. Methods: Participants were 357 girls [mean age (standard deviation) = 13.2 (0.5) years] from 12 secondary schools located in low-income communities in New South Wales, Australia.
