Rus Buğday Afidi Diuraphis noxia (Kurdjumov) (Homoptera: Aphididae) dünyada tüm buğday ekili alanlarda büyük ekonomik kayba sebep olan afit türlerinin en başında gelmektedir. Zararlı, buğday bitkisinde yaprak kıvrılmasına neden olmasıyla kimyasal mücadeleyi de zor bir hale getirmektedir. Bu nedenle de afide karşı dayanıklı çeşit kullanımı, dayanıklılık ıslahı çalışmaların ana konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Daha önce yapılan iki çalışma sonucunda Rus buğday afidine dayanıklılık sağlayan genin buğdayın 7D kromozomunun kısa kolunda lokalize olduğu belirlenmiştir.
