Virtual reality (VR) technology has the potential to become the next performance measure in contemporary coaching methods by enhancing the perceptual ability of football players. This paper aims to analyse perceptions of barriers and opportunities for the adaptation of VR technology in football coaching. After a pilot study was conducted, interviews were carried out with 6 active elite European coaches/performance analysts: 3 from the English Premier League, 1 from the English Championship, 1 from the Dutch Eredivisie and 1 from the Norwegian Eliteserien.
