Investigation of the perceptions of high school students regarding the gravitation ıssue

Bu çalışmanın amacı yerçekimi olgusuyla ilgili lise öğrencilerinin bilgi düzeylerinin ve yerçekimi algılarının belirlenmesidir. Araştırmada yerçekimi ve algı ile ilgili kavramlar incelenmiştir. Yerçekimine ait temel kavramlar açıklandıktan sonra, Dünya'nın şekli ve yerçekimindeki farklılıklar hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir. Algıyla ilgili temel kavramlara yer verilerek bunlar alt başlıklar halinde açıklanmıştır. Birtakım senaryolar üzerinden hazırlanan 17 soru her sınıf seviyesindeki 19 gönüllü lise öğrencisine ve iki fizik öğretmenine yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat yoluyla yöneltilmiş ve 18. soruyla da günlük yaşam deneyimlerinden yerçekiminin varlığına dair bir resim çizmeleri istenmiştir. Sorulara verilen cevaplardan elde edilen verilerin ve çizilen resimlerin derinlemesine analizi sonucu öğrencilerin yerçekimi bilgilerinin yeterli düzeyde olduğu, yerçekimini sezgisel olarak algıladıkları tespit edilmiştir.The purpose of this study is to determine the level of knowledge and the sense of gravitation of the relevant high school students as a matter of gravity. Concepts related to gravity and perception in the research have been examined. After explaining the basic concepts of gravity, information on the shape of Earth and the differences in gravity are given. Basic concepts related to perception are mentioned and they are explained in subheadings. Seventeen questions from a series of scenarios were directed to 19 volunteer high school students and two physics teachers at each grade level through a semi-structured interview and 18th question was asked to draw a picture of the existence of space from daily life experiences. In-depth analysis of the data and drawings obtained from the answers to the questions revealed that the students were sufficiently aware of the gravity information and that they perceived gravity intuitively
