This paper investigates the use of advanced oxidation method (AOM) (ozone/hydrogen peroxide/ UV) in the removal of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) which is a widely used herbicide, and is considered as persistent pollutant. Kinetics of the oxidation process was studied. The effect of parameters such as ozonation rate, dose of UV, H2O2 initial concentration, pH and temperature were examined. Also the role of partial oxidation intermediates (2,4,D. derivatives) was followed, partial reaction orders and the overall reaction order have been achieved. Reaction rate equation is introduced.
