The Degree of Principals\u27 Practice of Evaluating the Performance of Teachers in Jordanian Secondary Schools from the Point of View of Principals Themselves

This study aimed at investigating the status quo of principals\u27 practices of evaluating the performance of teachers in Jordanian secondary schools from the point of view of the principals themselves. To achieve this goal, the survey method was used. The sample consisted of 567 male/female principals in Jordanian secondary schools. To answer the study questions, means, standard deviations and t-test were calculated for independent samples. The results were as follows: - The average of principals\u27 practices of evaluating teachers\u27 performance in Jordanian secondary schools was (3.82), and with a standard deviation of (0.44) and a high degree of use. - There were no significant differences in principals\u27 estimations of the extent to which they use evaluation practices associated with each and every criterion of the study instrument, attributed to gender (except for the 6th criterion, as the value of t-test is significant in favor of males). - There were also no significant differences in principals\u27 estimations of the extent to which they use evaluation practices associated with each and every criterion of the study instrument, attributed to principals\u27 qualifications
