The structure is composed of [NH2(CH3)2](+) cations, bis(3-oxidonaphthalene-2-carboxylato) borate anions and water molecules. The water molecule lies on a twofold rotation axis. The stabilization of the crystal structure comes from electrostatic interactions and is assisted by intermolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot O and N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds between the layers
