Las críticas no se hicieron esperar y muchos consideraban un despilfarro de tiempo y recursos esta idea, era más un juguete caro que algo cuya utilidad podría ser considerada en el mercado. Sin embargo la evolución, a lo que conocemos como el helicóptero hoy en día, no tuvo que tardar tanto como desde la idea que Di Vinci ilustro y en 1939 Igor Sikorsky estabilizo el artefacto y pudo lograr que se mantuviera en el aire gracias a un segundo motor que ubicado estratégicamente dio inicio a un revolucionario producto, cuya aplicación empezó a ser usado en la guerra
