Caracterización de las propiedades mecánicas de las tejas de barro producidas por alfareros de la parroquia la victoria, cantón Pujilí.

The present research permits to know the characterization of mechanical and chemical properties of clay‟s tiles produced by the Victotia‟s Parish Potters. In base of this Analysis has been proposed an adequate improvement of tile‟s production using the same raw material it brings them the best technologic treatment and fulfilling the commercialization regulation.To finish the research work, It was realized the chemical composition analysis for the Olsen method and the clay, percentage of fine particle, granulometry by the International regulation ASTMD-6913, humidity regulation ASTMD-2216, liquid limits regulation ASTMD-4318 and the plastic limit with the regulation before named, the comprehension tests were realized for the ASTMC-42 regulation, while the flexion tests were realized by INEN 990 Ecuadorian regulation. The obtained results conclude that the clay of Tingo has better value in the plastic index with 12,6, liquid limit is 42% and the texture is 81,1; This clay presents the best resistance of flexion obtains like a result 471newtons, for them, it‟s necessary to inform to the Victoria‟s potters that they need to launder the clay before to start to make the tiles this helps to eliminate the thick particles, with this process where they will have a better complete production and the best mechanical resistant .En la presente investigación se da a conocer la Caracterización de las propiedades mecánicas y químicas de las tejas de barro producidas por alfareros de la parroquia La Victoria”. En base a este análisis se ha propuesto un adecuado mejoramiento de la elaboración de tejas utilizando la misma materia prima, dándole un mejor tratamiento tecnológico, y cumpliendo las normas establecidas para su comercialización. Para la ejecución del trabajo se realizaron los análisis de la composición química bajo el método de Olsen y de las arcillas, porcentaje de partículas finas, granulometría bajo las normas Internacionales ASTM D-6913, humedad normas ASTM D-2216, límites líquidos normas ASTM D-4318 y el límite plástico con la norma antes mencionada. Las pruebas de compresión se realizaron bajo las normas ASTM C-42, mientras que las pruebas a flexión están realizadas bajo normas Ecuatorianas INEN 990. De los resultados arrojados por la investigación se concluye que la arcilla del sector el Tingo tiene mejores valores en el índice plástico con 12,6 , el límite líquido de 42 % y de textura de 81,1 ; esta arcilla presenta una mayor resistencia a la flexión teniendo como resultado 471 Newtons, para ello se manifiesta a los artesanos de La Victoria realizar el lavado de la arcilla antes de comenzar a elaborar las tejas, esto ayuda a eliminar partículas gruesas, donde se tendrá un mejor acabado y una mayor resistencia mecánica
