Comportamiento Epizootiologico de Parasitos Gastrointestinales en Caninos Domesticos (canis familiaris) en el Barrio de Tilipulo

Parasites are an animal health problem that tends to the propagation and contagion of other animals, including their owners. The gastrointestinal parasites in the dogs cause digestion alterations and/or absorption of nutrients that affect the health, growth, and immune system of the companion animals, and favor the development of other diseases -moderate or severe- that can end the pet life. From this point of view, this research work was carried out to determine the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites in the "Tilipulo" neighborhood in 150 domestic dogs. The general objective was to determine the epizootiological behavior of gastrointestinal parasites in domestic dogs (canis familiaris) through the coprological analysis to structure prevention measures against zoonotic parasitic diseases. The specific objectives were to characterize the type of gastrointestinal parasite; determine the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites in relation to sex, breed and age of the dogs; and structure prevention measures and socialize the results obtained. 150 stool samples of dogs were collected from the “Tilipulo” neighborhood, which were carried out through the flotation with sucrose solution technique, considering positive samples with the presence of parasite eggs, or parasites in the microscope. Therefore, the characteristics by its structural conformation of parasites are: Ancylostoma caninum, 48 parasitized dogs (32%); Toxocara canis, 22 dogs (14.67%); and Uncinaria stenocephala, 17 dogs (11.33%). The parasite with the highest prevalence is Ancylostoma caninum with n=48 (32%); within the age rank 0-12 months, we have n=26 (17.33%); 1-5 years old, n=19 (12.67%); and dogs older than 5 years old, n=3 (2%). By sex: male dogs, n=23 (15.33%); females, n=25 (16.67%); in small breeds, n=5 (3.33%); medium breeds, n=37 (24.67%); and large breeds, n=6 (4%) were found. Next prevalence is Toxocara canis with the following number and percentage. According to the age classification, we found from 0-12 months, n=9 (6%); from 1-5 years old, n=12 (8%); > 5 years old, n=1 (0.67%). By sex was verified that in males, n=15 (10%) while in females, n=7 (4.67%). According to the breeds, small breeds, n=1 (0.67%); medium breeds, n=18 (12%); and large breeds, n=3 (2%). Finally, the Uncinaria stenocephala parasite from 0-12 months, n=11 (7.33%); 1-5 years old, n=1 (0.67%); in the classification by sex, we found males, n=10 (6.67%) and in females, n=7 (4.67%); by breed, small breeds 0%, medium breeds, n=14 (9.33%); and large breeds, n=3 (2%). Through the results obtained, brochures were made with the research results to inform people from the Tilipulo neighborhood about the parasitic prevalence that exists in their dogs, informing them about the diseases that can be contracted without prevention.Los parásitos son un problema de salud animal que propenden a la diseminación y contagio de otros animales, incluyendo a sus propietarios; los parásitos gastrointestinales en los caninos provocan alteraciones en la digestión y/o absorción de los nutrientes que afectan la salud y el crecimiento de los animales de compañía, afectando además su sistema inmunológico y favoreciendo el desarrollo de otras enfermedades, siendo estas moderados o graves que pueden terminar con la vida de la mascota. Desde este punto de vista se llevó a cabo esta investigación, para determinar la prevalencia de parásitos gastrointestinales en el barrio Tilipulo, Parroquia Eloy Alfaro del Cantón Latacunga en 150 perros domésticos, bajo el objetivo general de determinar el comportamiento epizootiológico de parásitos gastrointestinales en caninos domésticos ( canis familiaris) mediante el análisis coproparasitario para estructurar medidas de prevención ante enfermedades parasitarias zoonosicas, con los objetivos específicos de caracterizar el tipo de ´parásito gastrointestinal, determinar la prevalencia de parásitos gastrointestinales en relación con el sexo, la raza y la edad de los caninos y estructurar medidas de prevención y socializar los resultados obtenidos. En esta investigación se procesaron 150 muestras de heces caninas, siendo el 58,00 % de casos positivos a parasitosis, así en animales entre 0-12 meses presentaron un 17,33 % de parasitosis en ancylostoma caninum, 6,00 % en toxocara caninum y 7,33 5 en uncinaria stenocephala; en el rango de 1-5 años 12,67% en ancylostoma caninum , 8,00 % en toxocara caninum y 3,33 % uncinaria stenocephala; en caninos > 5 años 2,00 % en ancylostomas , 0,67% en toxocara canis y 0,67 % en uncinaria stenocephala. Caninos en categoría por sexo los machos obtuvieron los siguientes resultados 15,33% en ancylostoma caninum, 10,00% en toxocara canis, 6,67% en uncinaria stenocephala. En lo que respecta a hembras obtuvimos 16,67% en ancylostoma caninum, 4,67% en toxocara canis y 4,67% en uncinaria stenocephala. Razas pequeñas se obtuvo 3,33% en ancylostoma caninum, 0,67% en toxocara canis, 0,00% en uncinaria stenocephala. Seguido de las razas medianas en las cuales se obtuvo 24,67 % en ancylostoma caninum, 12,00% en toxocara canis, 9,33 % en uncinaria stenocephala, finalmente las razas grandes obtuvieron como resultado 4,00 % en ancylostoma caninum, 2,00 % toxocara canis, 2,00 %. Obtenemos fundamentalmente mediante el análisis total de los caninos estudiados como a los Ancylostomas(nematodos) como los invasores en mayor porcentaje con 80,17 %, mediante el cual se presentan impactos sociales y ambientales siendo afectado principalmente la salud pública y el medio ambiente, ya que la parasitosis que presentan los caninos (canis familiaris) del Barrio de Tilipulo es de carácter zonootico
