Tremble sheep farmers and capitalist oppressors. The Red Scare and the fight against immigrant/agitator unwanted in Chilean Patagonia, 1918-1921.

Este artículo da cuenta del impacto de la revolución bolchevique en la Patagonia chilena (1918-1921). Se analizan las principales formas de intervención y manifestación de los sectores dominantes y el Estado frente al peligro y amenaza de que una revolución como la bolchevique se desarrollara en la región. Se exacerbó el conflicto obrero patronal desatando el miedo rojo de los sectores dominantes y la preocupación estatal, lo que posibilitó el inicio de una intensa campaña contra el inmigrante/agitador no deseado, lo que impulsó un discurso xenófobo, nacionalista y anti-maximalista y, por parte del Estado, una campaña de instrucción a las autoridades para regir su accionar con respecto al control de los inmigrantes.150-168camila.a.ahumada@gmail.comMarcelo.bonnassiolle@usach.clSemestralThe article addresses the impact of the Bolshevik Revolution in Chilean Patagonia (1918- 1921). It focuses on the main forms of intervention and manifestation of the dominant sectors and the State face of danger and threat that the Bolshevik Revolution represented in the region. It suggests that the impact of Russian Revolution exacerbated the Labor - Employer conflict unleashing the “Red Scare” of the dominant sectors and State concern, which made the beginning of an intense campaign against immigrant / stirrer unwanted, which was reflected in the push by the dominant sectors of a xenophobic, Nationalistic and anti- Maximalist discourse and, by the State side, a campaign of authorities education to manage their actions regarding the control of immigrants
