This bachelor thesis focuses on The Entertainer (1957) by John Osborne and on The Kitchen (1959) by Arnold Wesker, the plays written by playwrights referred to as the Angry Young Men. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the historical context (starts with the situation in Britain after the Second World War), explains the birth of and defines the Angry Young Men movement, and provides the information about the drama of the Angry Young Men such as its beginnings or features. Lastly, the theoretical part puts both plays into the historical context and the context of British drama.
