Abstract This research reflects the issues of tourism development in Bama-a longevity area in China. It focuses on examining three research questions: the tourist motivation, the stakeholders’ attitudes about tourism development and the managerial problems of the destination. Especially, it deeply discusses the negative impacts of tourism development on the natural environment and socio-culture elements what the longevity phenomena rest on in this region. Qualitative research methods were used in the field study. In-death interviews with 40 samples and the observations help the author achieve the goal of research.
