A Strategic Analysis of Impact of the WTO Accession on China's Telecommunication Industry

By the end of 2007, China Telecommunication substantially keeps going open up. However there are still opportunities along with challenges after accession to WTO. It is important to analyze the current situation of China's telecommunication industry. In this study, the research is going to take through assessment of the external environment and internal industry performance using PEST and Five Forces framework separately. There will be a brief introduction of WTO, China's information industry with the development of the WTO accession process and the profiles and characteristics of opening up telecommunications after accession to the WTO. This study will give recommendation for China's telecom industry reform and further development in the international environment. Those suggestions are important for domestic firms to create sustainable competitive advantages
