This thesis examines the practices and procedures of the Human Rights Committee, the body established under the International Covenant On Civil And Political Rights (ICCPR) (1966). Chapter 1 examines the origins of the ICCPR, the principal drafting issues that arose, and the significance of the ICCPR in international law. Chapter 2 examines the organisation and the institutional characteristics of the Human Rights. Committee.
