A translator's work on a novel can be regarded as impactful and often times can be considered the item which could support the success of work. For that reason, translations should usually try to convey the meaning of the text, but also attempt to keep the original style and narrative tools in place. Attempting to keep those things intact could prove a challenge to translators for various reasons, and diverting from the original form can end the translation up with translational deforming tendencies, most famously listed by Antoine Berman. The aim of this Bachelor’s thesis is to analyze the deforming tendencies visible in the translation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, specifically focusing on the journal entries of Jonathan Harker.https://www.es...
