The presence in patient’s brain tissues of neuritic plaques containing Aβ aggregates is one of the pathological hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and Aβ aggregates have been implicated in the disease mechanism. These facts have inspired a large number of biophysical and structural studies on Aβ behavior over the last 25 years.
