PENGARUH TERPAAN MEDIA SOSIAL INSTAGRAM TERHADAP INTERAKSI SOSIAL MAHASISWA (Studi pada Mahasiswa Jurusan Ilmu Komunikasi UMM Angkatan 2016)

The research entitled "The Influence of Instagram Social Media Exposure on Student Social Interaction (Study on Students of the Department of Communication UMM Class of 2016)" has the following background: (1) The use of Instagram social media is now very popular with the public, especially teenagers (2) In cyberspace teenagers, especially students, often make Instagram social media a place to express themselves to get what they want. The purpose of this study is to see whether there is an effect of social media exposure on student social interaction (a study of students majoring in Umm Communication Science class 2016) and anything that has a large effect of social media exposure on student social interaction (study of students majoring in Umm Communication Science class 2016) . This research uses quantitative research methods, with explanative descriptive research type. The sampling technique used the simple random sampling technique and assessed the data by distributing questionnaires. To measure the data in this study the researcher used validity and reliability tests and the data analysis method used was the normality test, simple linear regression analysis with the theory used, namely the hypodermic needle theory, the delivery of messages is only one direction and also a very strong effect on communicants. The stimulus-response principle has inspired the hypodermic needle theory. A classic theory regarding the mass media effects process which is very influential.
