Conventional energy sources, such as coal and fossil oil, are considered the main source of air pollution, and it is desired to use clean energies sources such as wind, hydro, solar, and geothermal. One problem of using renewable energies is the fluctuation problem from the sources, therefore proper modeling and controlling for renewable systems is very challenging. In this research, a low order dynamic model is developed for the Ramea hybrid power system. A detailed literature review showed that a number of researchers have used a similar approach to model and control hybrid power systems.
